Preston Manor, Saturday 17th July 2010

Sussex Ghost Hunters visited Preston Manor in Brighton with The Caspian Group.

It was the first time we had visited this location so we were very excited and curious to what we would find.

Preston Manor is known to be the most haunted house in Brighton.

We started off the night by doing a tour of the building. We visited various rooms around the manor including the drawing room, dining room and bedrooms.

We did our first vigil in the dining room with the whole group. Sue the main organiser suggested we all connect with each other by doing a Séance. This will build the energy up in the room. Sue did some shouting out and we found to have a lot of activity from the responses the spirits were giving us. We heard banging, knocking and also people's chairs were being vibrated.

Our second vigil we were split into two separate groups. We were with Sue the main organiser of the group who is also a medium.
We went up to the nursery on the second floor where we did a silent vigil. We found this room to be quieter than usual so we moved into the Maid's room which is also known as 'Rose's room' we did a silent vigil but again was quite so we tried some table tipping to see if we had any activity. We had only the slightest movement.
From here we moved onto the landing between the two rooms we were previously in and again tried table tipping. We had a lot of movement from the table. It moved back and forth responding to the questions asked by Sue the medium. It also responded by doing a circle motion.

Our third and final vigil we decided to visit the dining room again as we had a decent amount of activity previously in the night.
We did the Planchet to see if we could get any response on paper from the spirits we heard earlier. The Planchet moved but what was written was not readable and didn't make sense.
We then moved into one of the small rooms next to the drawing room in the manor and did the glass divination. We found this to be tipping when asked questions before it started moving around the table.
Before ending the night we visited the old dining room where we did the Planchet for five minutes.
We found it to be moving and answering questions by moving to particular people in the group to respond to either 'Yes' or 'No' answers.
